Treatment for mesothelioma is something that varies, depending on a large scale of factors.  Some of the factors that play in include: location of the cancer, age of the patient, stage of disease, and the overall health of the patient.  In surgery, sometimes the surgeon may remove part of the lining of the chest or abdomen in order to perform surgery.  In pleural mesothelioma cases, oftentimes a lung may be removed in what’s called pneumonectomy. Part of the diaphragm is even removed sometimes.

This is how surgery is generally performed with mesothelioma.  This may be the most difficult form of treatment for patients to undergo as it generally requires removal of other organs inside the body, which may contribute to a decline of overall health.
