Headquarters of the Glacier National Park located in Whitefish, MT were shut down over concerns of possible exposure to asbestos. Employees of the national park were moved to different buildings recently.

With the West Glacier main facility building that was built in the 1960s, problems were noticed when a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning unit was installed.  There hasn’t been confirmation made by officials at the national park that asbestos is in the building. However, they are going to go ahead and assume that some of the building construction may contain the dangerous material, according to sources.

There will be tests ran to determine if there is asbestos in the building. After ensuring everything is safe, the building will likely be reopened.  Employees have been relocated to other offices.
